Question ECU rpm data storage deletion?

There have been a few threads on other boards concerning Porsche NA taking a position of engine abuse and denying warrranty work when people have engine issues e.g smoking seems relatively common for 996's. The data used to profer the engine abuse position, has come from the ECU, which apparantly tracks excursions toward the red line (above 6000 rpm) and when this last happened (engine hours).

As I autocross and generally drive my Boxster like a Porsche and not a Buick, there are times when I push past 6000 rpm. Given that there is a red line and engine cut off as delivered by Porsche, it seems unrealistic for them to take exception if you use the engine as they have provided i.e. high revs but below the red line. I am unhappy with the idea that Porsche may try this should I have engine problems.

Anyone have any experience of how to clear this code logging?
