Rotors that are drilled after they are cast tend to crack. I've been told that stock Porsche rotors with holes are cast that way, not drilled later.

We routinely flunk cars with cracks between the holes in rotors during tech inspections at our PCA DE events. They are not hard to see.

Modern pads IMO do not require drilled rotors.
