yeah they are light red, almost like a blend of light gray and red. Which is actually good in terms of cleaning. The light color hides dirt very well. Sometimes I will will wash the mats and they won't really look any different. Like silver paint!
Dark colors for floor mats are a real pain the butt.
What you don't see in the pics is that the deeper pile of Lloy'ds mats reflects light in a nice way. Like one of those iridescent fabrics.
