Pushing the car makes sense when the engine has sat for an entire season without use. Sounds like your talking about a week or two. While it might not hurt anything to do it, I wouldn't worry about it.
However -- don't be surprised if it lets out some white smoke at startup. When the flat six engine sits for a while, its not unusual for a very small amount of oil to leak into the chamber & burn off when you start it. Its just the way the engine is designed & it happens to all of them.
Get some snow tires & drive it! The Boxster is a blast in the snow. Its very balanced which makes it easy to control when you intentionally slide it around...
