I'm having a problem starting the car after I fill it with gas. It is harder to start when the car is fully warmed up. I had the vent tube replaced a year ago and that solved the problem for a while. Now the problem has returned, and I'm wondering if the problem is related to the gas cap. I don't have a CEL, and I had the car scanned about a month ago and there were no codes stored.

Is there any way to know for sure whether the gas cap on my car should have been recalled? I have a 2000 that was built on 9/11/99. The previous owner gave me his service records which appear to be fairly complete, and there is no mention of a gas cap replacement.
