The Cyclo is the Professional's choice and the PC is the enthusiasts choice.
The Cyclo will do the job quicker so for someone trying to do as many cars in a day as possible its the way to go. I'm guessing a pro detailer will have to spend a great deal of time doing corrective work than maintenance polishing and buffing while a two car owner will be doing corrective work only once or twice a year.
The Metabo and Makita are certainly not for the average weekend warrior. I saw some maintenace guys using a Makita the other day on building marble, scary to think some people try to teach themselves on a Porsche.
The other polishers Griots, Ultimate are a little less effective at corrective work because the motor produces less torque.
Funny that I'm often asked about detailing because I rarely do it now with a garaged silver car. I'm also not a die hard expensive wax user. I think most products with a few notable exceptions produce 99% similar results. There's allot of marketing malarkey and hype out there to get you to pay $30 for an $8 wax.
