The AOS shouldn't cost that much to change... it's about a $150 part, IIRC, and it's just got some hoses connected to it. Perchance they did something in addition to just changing the AOS?

If they are talking about the Rear Main Seal needing replaced, you can hold off on it for a while, it's just a little oil leak. When you do have it replaced, get a new clutch, and have them install it while they're in there.


BTW, I do my own oil changes. Costs me about $80 or so, and takes maybe an hour. It's easy.
