Doesnt the variocam+ also exist on the post 2002 boxsters?
Anyway, to the original question:

Honda? No, never. Only German cars for me anyway. And no 4 cyls either!
I drove the 2K for an hour. Hmmh...no, not for me :-)
Adam: come in Switzerland, we have wonderful twisties roads...to the point you wish you'd see a straight line of more than a half a mile again :-)
