			thanks everyone for the input so far.  I personally would love to drive it home, I told him I would, but he "doesn't want those miles on it"  he won't baby it, but doesn't see the need to put 3,000 miles on it right away, I kind of don't blame him.  
 I have a 2000 Boxster with about 75,000 miles, so obviously I would rather drive than worry about miles, thats what a car is for.
 
 it's a 2004 40th anniversary edition 911, with about 18,000 miles on it, so I guess it's  a good idea to not throw 3,000 miles on it right away.
