Well at least you got your money's worth out of those tires. I'm not sure you could have put any more miles on them.
Do you guys have annual inspections? Here you have to get your car inspected every year (or two depending on the state) and if you have bad tires they will fail you. If your car fails you have to fix the problem or you can not renew your license plates.
