The "Beep"
Not wanting to add more fuel for confusion, in my 2001, the manual states "depress the alarm button twice in fast repetition, the alarm will sound a single beep".
That is the only way I can make mine beep. Personally, I like the beep as it lets me know the alarm is on. On a bright, sunny day, I sometimes can not see the light flash.
