here's a consideration
I know some people are down on wheel spacers, but one way to go it the way my car is set up. (I'm not taking credit for it...I bought it this way)
I've got big spacers 15mm front and 21mm rear with stock width (7.5" f 50mm offset, 9" r 52mm offset) rims. this way you get a nice, wide stance, without the added weight of wider wheels or wider tires. The issue I have with my setup is that I'd like a lighter wheels, so I'm strongly considering staying with the wheel size that I have, continuing with the spacers, and just swapping for a lighter wheel.
My car doesn't have any extra body work, so that's a difference between our setups...but with my stock bodywork and a 20mm drop my setup fills the wheel wells great and gives it that great aggressive look. here's a pic of the rear to give you an idea.
