water stain on the inside of my top!

I've only had my Boxster for a couple of months, and she's never seen rain. But because summer is here and so are the random thunderstorms, I figured it was time for a really good top cleaning and protecting. I got Raggtop cleaner and protectant and really gave it a good cleaning. Since then, I've washed the car again and was amazed at what a difference the protectant makes (the water actually beads on the top).

Today, I was driving around with the top up for a change, and I found a stain on the inside of my top. It almost looks like a sweat stain (white line definately caused by water evaportating). 1st, how did this happen, and 2nd, what is the best way to clean it up. I'm afraid to use any cleaner because I don't want chemical stains. And I'm really not sure how it got there in the first place because the only wanter that has ever been on the car is fresh hose water, and I've never just drenched it or anything.

Any help or advice would be appreciated on this topic. (I have black interior by the way)
