Looks sweet. I did the same when I upgraded my rear bumper to the 03-04 look.
Great minds think alike

There is no such thing as a Euro bumper... When you buy the actual bumper the holes are not cut out for the bumperettes. If you don't cut the holes yourself then there are no holes. You do however have to drive out the rivets that hold on the reinforcement that the bumperettes bolt onto.

Thanks for that info! I guess people were calling it a euro bumper because the center has the exact length of the european style license plate. In europe, they are sold this way without the bumperrets and steel re-inforcements. The euronean plates take up and fill the entire center of that area. Like this picture shown here. Thanks again!

That looks awesome! Please share where you got that from, I'm wanting the same look.
What year is your Boxster and did you have to make any changes to the spoiler for it to look or fit right?

"replaced them with a custom cover "
So, did you replace the whole bumper with a new one, or did you make an insert that fits inside the license plate area with the bumperettes removed?
Just wondering.

I did that hack about 6 years ago....took the bumperettes off and put a carbon fiber cap there.
I actually use to sell them.
Will post pics later tonight

thanks for all the kind responses..
To clarify, there is no actual "euro bumper" it is the same bumper. The difference with the us cars is they cut out two rectangle hole to allow the brackets for the bumperettes. This mod is commonly reffered to as the euro bumper is the process of usually filling those holes and removing the bumperettes allowing the use of european size license plates. What I did is a simplyfied process of fabricating a piece of plexiglass (same material as the rear wind delfector between the roll bar) to fit the area surrounding the license plate. I will de boing this mod to my uncles 99 Boxster that is also black. I will at that point take some detailed pictures and post. Sorry about having you guys log into snapfish, for some reason I could not get into my photobucket account to upload the new pictures and I'm not the most computer savy. If anyone wants specific instructions how to do the mod feel free to email me.

Well the whole "euro bumper" is real. I have an authentic one on my car right now. So the all us cars have it...just has the ugly holes for the mandatory bumperettes in the states.
Here is the 2 pics of the "euro bumper"
Here is a pic of my old hack:

nice ride europwr
Are you the same car I see in the magazine with the "MIRO" logo and graphics? I think I saw your car briefly on the speed channel when they visited SEMA show, they showed you driving away...much props looks like you have been modding your ride for a long time. Do you have a shop? Are you local (Bay Area, Cali) It would be nice to hang with a fellow car nut. ![cheers](http://www.986forum.com/forums/images/smilies/cheers.gif) Let me know if you have any planned gatherings or shop that I can support!

WOW...I missed the Speed channel show...does anyone have a copy?
Actually I am local. I just opened up a shop in Milpitas. I was actually thinking about opening it up for a tech day for local Boxsters owners.
My car will definitely be out there.
Let me know....maybe we can get a group of us local Boxster drivers together sometime.
