I've done it and it is one of the most self satisfactory jobs ever. Once they are silver no one will notice, but the orange ruins the look. All you need is a little piece of cardboard with some X's cut in it to put the bulbs in and then one light coat and everything will look awesome.

No offense taken, I actually bought a set of the silver bulbs but I have not dropped them in yet.
I am way to lazy to paint them myself
