Carl's Red Beauty

Hi everyone! It’s time for me to show my car and tell about what I’ve done to it since I bought it all stock this may. My name is Carl and live in Norway. This car is for me a everyday driver all year around.

I changed the 17” wheels to these 18” ( cayman rims!? ) and put winter tires on the 17” original.

Bought the spoiler from ebay. A real hassle to mount it! When I tested it the epoxy cracked! I spent two days with fiberglass filler, painting and everything. I filled the inside and made a tube so the spoiler could be screwed from the top. I also made it wider and more “correct” to fit with the lines of the trunk.

Inside I have installed a Pioneer player with apple carplay, blutetooth, nav. Etc.

Changed to smoke lights all way around.

Installed Freds projectors. Actually saw them here before I bought the car and knew right away that this was a must have! Along with his red wheel cap’s (witch I don’t have a picture off, with the car) this two mods make a huge difference in the look of my Red Beauty.

Did the DIY PSE
This Project took time, i went to multiple exhaust shop's, at first. The cost if a shop was to do this was so high that i instead bought a sheap mig welder. I had no previus experience with weldig, but with some training on test pieces i mannaged to get a good but not to pretty weld. I cut of the oval pipe and welded on round ones that are sticking more out (flush with the bumper). When i had all parts and made my desision how i wantet it, it was only a short day of work.

I went with 1.25 inch pipes. The sound is ecsactly what i was looking for on start up. Betwen 2 - 3000 rpm it's alittlebit too mouch, InFact this is where you have most sound. Over 3000 it's reealy good! There is no drone but engine / exhaust sound is in owerall littlebit higher. The more you push the pedal the more sound, drive easy and the sound is not too mouch. It sounds like a real Carrera and propper Porsche!

I think i would have went with 1 inch pipes if i were to do this again. Because you have allot of sound betwen 2 - 3k rpm (also when driving "normal") it sounds like you are going faster then you actually are.

This is my opinion, age 24. I'm also on the hard top now, Winter in Norway so have'nt driven the car top down, only windows down and its a noticable difference, so exited to dive it top Down next summer

Welcome! Nice looking car- it's nice to see a Boxster that isn't silver (mine is silver).

What part of Norway do you live in? My wife is from Stabekk (west of Oslo).

Lovely! I've got the same wheels but I put them in anthracite

Do you have a link for the spoiler? I can't find it anywhere.

I have seen yours and they look very nice. My original plan was to paint them black. Wil see what i do in the future

As for the spoiler i cold not find the same seller's name, but this is the same:
http://m.ebay.com/itm/FOR-PORSCHE-1997-2004-BOXSTER-986-LIFT-REAR-WING-TRUNK-SPOILER-/252406404923?hash=item3ac498173b%3Ag%3AVfYAAOSwBPN XSxCX&_trkparms=pageci%253A4b37ec73-ab78-11e6-9af0-005056b64a89%257Cparentrq%253A69d602281580a2a41948 4b3bfff8dba7%257Ciid%253A3
As i described under one of my photos i did some changes and used quite a bit of time to make it better looking - not straight forward install

Just wanted to upload som Pictures i've taken over the last months.

I have now also removed the Boxster lettering and changed it out with Porsche chrome lettering, that I've for a change attatched to the bumper (like 918) and not on the trunk.

I realy like it! For me it gives the car a more macho look and still looking original without beeing a big owerzised wing. And with the lettering on the bumper it looks badass

Hei Carl! Very nice looking red Boxster you have there! I lived in Stavanger for two years. I wish I had purchased my Boxster while living in Norway because the weather, depending on where you live, can be the perfect place to have a convertible. Downside is the "speed restriction" unless you go on holiday and take it by ferry to Germany LOL

Looks like you've done quite a few mods and I'm sure there will be many more in the future. I'm sure you get plenty of looks driving that red beauty.

Lykke Til,

Chris
