Mrs. Grizzly's Boxster

I've been stealthing around the board here for a little while, occasionally making stupid comments. After re-assembling the top (see dings and things in General Discussion) I grabbed the camera and snapped a couple of pics for you to check out.

1) I'm not a photographer
2) I'm a computer illiterate so who knows if these attachments will actually work.
3) It is my wife's and I'm not allowed to lower it.

My sincere thanks to everyone who has helped me get this thing where I wanted to be, particularly Arctic North and Tri Gem.

Well, here goes...

Is that an aftermarket rear bumper diffuser? Looks really nice!

I'm thinking of getting it for mine arctic silver but was concerned that it would not look as nice as the original. But after seeing it on your wife's boxster, I really want to get it now.

Nice Box! Really like the hump with the silver roll bar!

Hey,

Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it. Today was a great ragtop day here in the East. Got a hell of a sunburn. I hope everyone else had similar weather.

Y2BOX,

Yes, the wheels are 19s. Everyone told me not to put them on a '97, but I never listen. They're 19x8s with 235s in the front and 19x9.5s in the rear with 275s. The rims are TSWs and they were very reasonable. They kind of remind me of a modern interpretation of Fuchs. I have a couple of '67 912s. The one I'm restoring now will be silver and black. I'm hoping they'll look like a matched set.

Richard,

Yes they're aftermarket diffusers from Performance Products. I like them. They fit really well. I also put the bright exhaust trim on and changed out the exhaust.

Flyride and Marc,

The wing came from Mid America Motorworks. Simple bolt on. I thought it was something different without being obnoxious.

Thanks again for the great forum. The information I've gathered here so far has been really helpful...plus you guys crack me up.

hey grizzly.car looks great i see you finally went with 19's,great choice ride quality doesnt really change.and one of the reasons i chose those mags were because they reminded me of a modern version on the fuchs mags aswell.and another coincedence is i put the same spoiler on my car weeks back.anyways congrats!!!!!

i am so glad i did not buy the boxster humps and rear bumper diffuser..both aftermarket body kits takes away the smooth and sexy curve appeal of the boxster.

also why use 19 inch on a boxster? sacrifice road feel and performance vs looks.
just my opionion.

Aaaaah! But thank God that we all don't have the same opinions on looks. What a boring world that would be.

I think your wife's Boxster looks great Griz.

In addition, not all of us can afford to pay for the upgrades...!

Thumbs up

Hey Grizzly,

Nice looking whip. Was the 996 front bumper a quick swap, or did you have to modify it for mounting?

Mark,

Thank you. The 996 bumper is a direct bolt on. You need the 99-01 996 bumper because they changed the lights for '02. I'm actually looking for another one now because someone was nice enough to mash mine in for me.

Those Humps, Those humps-those humps-those humps....Those lovely lady lumps.

LOL i love the car, Do you have to always remove the Humps before puting the top back up?

How much was the spoiler? and do they come painted?

Hey CJ,

Thanks for the compliment.

Yeah, you have to take the speedster humps off to put the top up. I really don't use them much. I thought about selling them, but I'll probably just hold onto them because they change the look of the car in like 30 seconds. They're easy to get on and off, provided you're smart enough to remove the wind screen first. Don't ask.

I got the rear spoiler from Mid America but it's on ebay right now for a lot less than I paid for it. Check out item #120010649422. They come unpainted.

Do you have pictures of your ride posted up here yet? If not, you need to get on the stick. It's the price of admission.

You're the second guy to ask me for a picture of Mrs. Grizzly. Watupwitdat?

Anyway, if it'll make you happy, here you go. Oh, no, wait. I'm sorry, that's her rich, single, gullible, gourmet chef who owns a micro-brewery, twin sister who doesn't like commitment and never wants to settle down. She gets on my nerves 'cause she's such a nymphomaniac.
