Its easy to change regions. Just phone PCA National and they will take care of it on the spot. You will get a welcome email from me as soon as I get the notice!

Presently running Michelin 4S on my ‘03 986S with MY’02 wheels and love them. I can vouch for the tires being great for the above vehicle up to 135 mph.

I look forward to seeing the “stance” with the spacers added. The 550SE came with 5 mm spacers all around right? So this would be an additional 10 mm (~0.5”) of outward poke per wheel.

I had a 550AE at one point and you couldn't really tell much difference with 5mm. There's someone on here with a 550AE who said they were running 15mm all the way around with no rubbing so I took their advice. I think you can safely go larger in the rear but 15 is close to the max for the fronts. I do miss my AE though... Come on Spring!

Hey Tom-
Hope you're well! It's been almost 10 years, but your old AE is still running strong! Current mileage is 75k and only upgrades have been catbypass pipes, ss brake lines, gt3 brake ducts, and an extra set of wheels with sticky RE71's. I AX the car several times a month down at Devens and make it out to a couple track days a year at NHMS and Club Motorsports. The car is still in great condition and I'm still loving it!!!

That is awesome!! What’s your hookup at club motorsports? SCDA is not invited back there but I loved that track. We should do a track day this summer!! If covid goes away...

I've been a handful of times with NCR-PCA. The track is a blast! PCA's scheduled to be back at CM July 17 - 19 and September 11 - 13. I'm not sure yet about my summer driving plans, but those dates are on my calendar!

Gareth - private test & tune day coming up at Club Motorsports on 4/26. Would you like to see if I can get you on the list? Would love to see my old AE.

Club Motorsports Ossipee Mountain Hillclimb

A few from a recent trackday/hillclimb event.

Tenth fastest for the day in a stock Boxster S. Not bad for my first timed event.

Track Addict App

Made a video of my last track day with the cool app called Track Addict. Comes with free software to edit videos called RaceRender. $10 bucks!! Worked slick as hell. Also controls your GoPro so multiple videos sync up. Check out my vid...

Forged Wheels

Picked up a set of these during a pretty decent Black Friday sale...

2023 Update

Car still on jack stands. Life gets in the way. Decided to do a mild suspension overhaul over the winter months. Good thing I'm not a flat rate technician. I'm somewhat handy but never dabbled with suspension. I just took my time, used my service manual and watched a bunch of videos on YouTube.

Picked these up back in December from a Spec Boxster guy who was upgrading...

Missing some parts so I thought I would just call up Bilstein and order the missing pieces. Think again. Only sell them as a full kit. "individual pieces would not work well together because the springs are matched to the shocks. It would be a safety issue." Bull********************.

Tarett Engineering to the rescue. Got me slightly stiffer springs (but not Spec Boxster stiff) and all the missing goodies. Picked up some used adjustable camber plates off the forum...

Looks like I was fully committed at this point. I also took the time to clean up all the cast aluminum bits with steel brush bits and steel wool. All those parts look like new now.

The rears are quite a bit more involved.

Starting to come back together...

The it was all so pretty and clean that I had to throw in new set of rotors and pads...

Next up tires and an alignment...

How is the new suspension? I’m about to tackle the same project. Picked up a set of new PSS9’s and I’m studying 📚 the install procedure. Looks like people attack it different ways. Did you remove any of the hubs or disconnect the cv joints in the rear?

Nice! I did the front ones myself and also stripped one of the Allen keyholes on the top. But the strut was tight enough on the mount that I don’t need to fix it until disassemble time in the future. It was such a pain in the @$$ that I had my Indy shop do the rears along with the corner balance and alignment. Definitely a night and day difference. The original struts were completely shot.

I’m always surprised how tough some of these seemly simple projects can be. I hope to get on the track one day soon!
