Thanks for the kind words. I searched for a long time to locate a "unique" color combination. One of my "must haves" was a red interior.

Done. (still need to figure out a proper DRL solution)

...and i need that chrome windshield trim sooner or later, for sure.

Those "Zunden" chrome bezels (which met my friends "dremel", "file" and "sand paper") are becoming extremely rare. I was lucky enough to find a pair in Japan!

Interesting to see, that suddenly RETRO becomes "the next big thing"...
Look at that awesome handle...

...well, I have always been ahead of time...with RETRO
Still considering a similar idea...chrome rubber bumper bands...but have to get my back-up sensors (front&back) and blind-spot sensors (back) installed first.
Yeah, that is my next big mod coming...lol

Project 986 "RETRO" aka the #neverendingone continues...

Those bumpers trims are actually for a Porsche 911 (65-73). First I had to figure out, how to carefully bend them into a 986 shape. I am confident to bring the front bumper into shape as well

All "chrome" (actually polished aluminum) 911 bumpers are finally bent into the 986 shape (only marginally adjustments necessary for final installation).
10 screws front | 8 screws rear. As this step is taken, the next can be done. Finding the best spots for the front and rear parking & blind spot sensors.

okay man, you win. This black on red is absolutely beautiful.

On top of the Swheel, the ring strip, it needs painting (dying) red

I agree. I tried to get the manufacture to add some "Boxster Red" accents on the wheel....but he gave me the "thumbs down". Said all black was all they produced. I have since seen a couple other listings on eBay with colored accents...guess I missed out.

Retro bumper trim...still WIP...what a PITA it is to get the curves right, as there are only 10 screws, which are "integrated" into fixed spots on the 911 bumper trim...the Boxster would actually need 12 screws to adapt to the curvy 986 lines. I had to create aluminium inner counterparts, to be able to attach it without stressing the flexible PU 986 bumper cover too much...not 100% perfect, but I am okay with the result. Learned a lot again, I think i can change the front bumper on my head now
The back bumper trim & parking sensors will be a lot easier to install, hopefully.
Now I just need to get a Duraflex 986 spoiler lip somehow and the retro front bumper project is done.

a tiny little mod... brushed alu trim rings...look'n'feel is better than of the plastic silver ones imo.
First, sanded down the plastic trim rings, 2-3mm, then cut and shaped a 2mm alu layer, bent it, "brushed" it with a dremel, and "glued" it on top of the original ones. Perfect fit, perfect feel.
