Pics of My 2001 S

Finally my dream come true. Picked her up today, 34,000Kms on the clock & she's immaculate. I'm in love.

I've driven plenty of BMW's, souped up V8 Holdens and Riced out Honda's but nothing compares to this.

Thanks to everyone who posts on this site for all the useful information.

These pics are from the dealers website.

Just not enough good days in the year over here to get the full pleasure tho....roll on spring!

Thumbs up

Congratulations! My interior is the same - except, of course, the steering wheel is on the other side. Not sure if exterior is black (like mine) or dark blue. Either way it is beautiful standing still, and I wish you miles, er KMs, of smiles,,,,,,,,,mike

I'll never understand how right handed people can shift with their left hand

Absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations, and drive that car hard now and again because it really performs well under pressure.

Just don't redline it because the onboard computer stores redlines for the life of the car.

lol, I used to wonder the same thing myself for left hand drivers. I had an american friend who used to own a Volvo C70 Turbo which was left hand drive, we once drove it from Alice Springs (middle of Australia) to Adelaide (South Australia). Driving on the left hand side of the road in a left hand drive vehicle trying to over take road trains was a lot of (scary) fun.

Stores the red line information for the life of the car? Wow. Learn something every day.

To be honest I haven't shifted past 4500 rpm yet, one, because it's been raining and the Sydney traffic has been heavy

Two, I'm still trying to figure out the best take up point with the clutch. Twice by accident this morning I lit the rear wheels up on the way to work . .

Thanks everyone for your feedback.

Easy, get a triptronic, then you can use your right or left thumb...LOL

Sadly I had to go for a tiptronic as I sit in pretty heavy traffic during the week and I use her daily... I've always prefered manual's but it wasnt worth my while this time around.

daily driver? boy that would get expensive at the gas station the way I drive.
When I hear that engine get up to 6,000 RPM on the highway in 4th gear its the most beautiful sound. I actually mute the radio I like it soooo much.
How much in U.S. dollars does it cost fill that tank? and what's your annual insurance like?
Here in Metro/NYC/NJ I just spent $45 to fill the tank. Prices are finally coming down from a high of nearly $70 to filler up. My insurance is about $1700 a year.

I mute the sound on the radio as well! Not sure how much it costs to fill up yet as I've only had her for two days and the dealer filled the tank for me prior to me collecting. I've been working insane hours lately so haven't emptied the tank yet, but the weekend is just around the corner I'll let you know on Monday!

Annual insurance is around $2000 Aussie which I think is about $1500 US
