DIY Hard Top Stand

I took the top off today after building my hardtop stand. Yes I could have bought one but if you know me that was not going to happen. I got most of the dimensions from a s2000 forum. My brother made one for his s2000 and it works well. Here is a photo of the one that I made this morning. I just need a cover now for the top. It took with cutting and glueing under an hour.

I made my own stand for just a few bux. Heres the link.

DIY Hard Top Stand

I have still yet to measure the parts list. I will do it if someone really needs it.

Tools needed

Hack/jig saw/something to cut pvc pipe
PVC Glue
Scissor for the padding/pipe insulation
6 - 1"pvc caps
10 - 1" pvc T's
2 - 1" 90dg. elbows
3 - 8' 1"pvc
1 can of rustoleum plastic spray paint. What ever color floats your boat.
1 8' piece of any size copper piping insulation ( I think I used 3/4", it doesn't wrap all the way around. Just open it and lay it on there.

I got it all at home depot.

I will take some measurements when I get the chance.

bumping an old thread, but just wondering if you would mind posting some dimensions when you get a chance. I'm interested in making one of these!

Do a search here for posts by JAAY about one year ago. He built one of these out of PVC in one afternoon and the photos he posted looked pretty good, IIRC.

edit: duh...this IS the thread!

Regards, Maurice.

All the measurements include the piece that goes into the fittings. I used 1" I/D pvc piping The caps on the front I Probably just cut 1.5" pieces to fit them. The 3 cross pieces are obviously the same length of 21.5" The 9" piece you can adjust to fit the down pipe (42" Pipe). I measured fast so...... Good luck. I winged it when I made it from an S2000 design. These sizes worked for me. Post pics after you completed.

Let me know if you need any more specifics.
