Sure sounds like a good price to me, especially the way it's loaded down with all the goodies. You know, if you've already bought it and you're enjoying it, why try to find out if you paid too much? Go drive it and enjoy it! It's too late to do anything about it anyway... but I do not think you paid too much for that particular car.

Had I seen a deal like that, I might have bought it myself for that price.

Just looking for reassurance that I didnt make too big of a mistake. Spur of the moment decision to buy the car on the spot due to another shopper considering at it at the same time. Never did that before.

I am definately lovin it. Might become my daily drive I like it so much.

I bought an 04 this spring and couldn't be happier. I looked at the 04 vs the 05 because I don't like silver plastic in an all black interior. enjoy

what part of the U.S. did you get that deal?

It deffinitely a great deal.

I paid $30,000 for my my 2000 S (10K miles) in November 04.
Since then I've put in the Litronics $1100, 18" Carreras $1900, GT3 Seats $1700. Another 4 grand and I'd a had your 2004!

but I LOVE my silver and red S. TOO MANY compliments to list.

Judging by the back pages of "Autoweek", there are still a few 04's to be sold. It is a great deal if you like a 986.

I paid more than 10k off sticker four months ago. I was also told it is not advertised wether or not PNA is throwing in money to make the deals.

Yikes !

What is this doing to the value of my 02 with 31000 miles? In recent months I have noticed that the autotrader market is selling similar cars for $30k-$33k. Now the 04 is selling for just a few k more than that! Lets hope there are still buyers out there! I was hoping to trade up to an 05 someday, so I am keeping an eye on the value of my current car.

This was the Porsche Exchange in the burbs of Chicago.

It was a great buying experience, great people to work with.

As I understood the owner just wanted to move the remaining 04's.

They had 4 left and all sold in two days. There was 2 S's ( 6sp & Tip ) that had MSRP of 62K+ that were selling at 45-46k. Probably could have had either for 43-44k. Unfortunately they were both black and I promised to never own a black car again because of upkeep.

Short term it might hurt the value of older cars, but there is a huge market for thirtysomething thousand dollar Porsches. That is why to move them he dipped the price into that market. It is hard to sell an 04 next to an 05.

It doesn't have anything to do with the going price. It is just like selling your ragtop in the winter, you arent going to do well. I was looking for a 99 miata to race and I swear they went up 3000 dollars from december to June. That is like 30%.

Wait till those new 04's are long gone, and the only choice a buyer has is pre-owned or 55k for new.
