Smile My "new" Box . S 03 !!!

Just drove back from Texas on Sunday, seal grey/black, , w/113,***, one owner, 6spd.
Had a super drive home, my wife enjoyed it also. This S is FAST !! and I like FAST.
Its not perfect, but I have already started detailing it.
here are some pics.
This is my 1st Boxter. I will keep my 84 Carrera 911 for now. I love that car.
Now I need to learn all about her, oil change, and more, // she is totally a diff. animal from my Carrera, looking forward to it.

Congratulations!

She looks really clean and well cared for. I wouldn't have guessed 113+ k miles.

I would love to see a pic of your Carrera as well.

Thanks,

ddb

That's a nice looking specimen of the 03 Box you've got there.

Best year for the S too, with a glass windowed top!

Enjoy it, and budget for an IMS bearing swap sooner than later so you can keep enjoying it.

Really very nice!...looks much newer. If you like wrenching a little you'll love the Boxster, some spaces are tight to work in, but really everything is pretty simple and straight forward.

Welcome to the 986 family. That is a great year...fast and no more chopping the plastic to open the top!

you think it is faster than your Carrera? (I was looking at an 84 at the same time as I was looking at Boxster S's)

pjS03,

Nice Carrera! I like the Grand Prix white. How many of the 200k miles did you put on it? Has it been reliable?

Thanks for posting the pic.

thank you guys !!

The Carrera, I got almost 8 years ago , w/170,*** mls, and yes with the cone filter , it sounds like a"turbo" (:, it whistles, // it has been rather reliable, the previous owner of 6 years, had replaced almost everything, engine never opened, that he knows of, no leaks.

4 years ago we (my wife and I ) we drove to Cal. via S D up to(1A) the wine country , then east to the Sierrs Nevadas, south via , Yosemite, Bishop, Vegas, G Canyon, Durango Co. , met up with some pre '75 911's, and then , E on Hwy 50, home.

We camped out in the Nat, Parks 8x of the time. total 22 days over 7k miles.
One SUPER DUPER road trip.!!!

We are planing another one to Cal. SD, with the Boxter S, next July, for my nieces wedding.

Whip- I would like to do a bit of wrenchin as you call it.
I usually change my own oil on all my rides.
Would like to change it on the Boxter also, I will also want to change my air filter when it comes in , with a K&N. I need to learn how its all done.
and anything else that I can do in my garage. (:

I do all my work on my Boxster, it is a vary easy car to work on. I highly recommend that you buy a Bentley Service Manual and Pelicans 101 Boxster projects manual, they are a must have for anyone working on a Boxster IMO.

I like your 911, I have always wanted one. I came close this year to buying a 1984 911 Tagera W/97k miles on it, the price was dirt cheep he was asking $10,500 and it looked great but when I went for a test drive in it with the seller the car drove like crap and the 5 speed Man. tranz, shifted like crap, bottom line it was a piece of junk. my 2002 Boxster was and is a better braking, handling and driving car. good luck with your boxster, you will love it.

Beautiful new Boxster and the right color also!

The Boxster on the track is much better than the 80's 911...just my personal opinion from tracking for 7+ years now. BUT, your white 911 is sure purrty!!!!!

fivepoint nine,
u mentioned you like my rims, what rims do u have on now ? I was considering 18's, but have to find a buyer for the 17's.
And what are the advantages of 18's ? no I do not do track at this time or across.

Great looking Seal Grey Boxster

That is a marvelous looking car, and it IS the right color. Seriously though, it really does look nice.

I had just responded to your PM on the Pelican Boxster forum, and was thinking that I remembered seeing this car on this forum.

Talk to you soon.
