Cars & Coffee Charlotte 10-1-11

Another great turnout in Charlotte this month. I was too distracted to concentrate on taking as many pics as I would have liked, but wanted to share some that I did take.

WhipE350, tuanle16 and I spent a lot of time talking to the owner of this new Cayman R. What a great car! He recently added the OE Sport Exhaust system which sounds incredible. Best of both worlds.

tuanle16's 986. At first we thought it was Arctic Silver but later decided it may be one of the more rare silvers that Porsche offered. Didn't get around to checking the paint code. Love the new convertible top.

More Porsches

WhipE350's 986S.

This 2008 Targa C4S may have had the best paint present. At first we thought it was Basalt Black, but the owner told us it was Dark Olive Metallic. Unfortunately I didn't do a good job capturing the color. You can probably see it best on the rear bumper cover.

Yes I really like his new top. Very nice quality. Here is the cool part, it even holds up to car washes...ya the ones with beaters!! Cleanest I've seen his daily driver yet

Penland,

Yep, Charlotte is a great car community. I'm surprised at the quantity of Porsches that show up at these monthly Cars & Coffee gatherings. Tons of new (and old) Camaros, Corvettes & Mustangs show up in big numbers as well. All of the other muscle cars, Asian cars, classics, kit cars, Euro luxury cars, etc. are present too. I tend to take pictures of what I like so my galleries aren't very representative of the big picture.

In addition there are multiple great shows held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway each year as well as many smaller events. The PCA group is strong as well. I think you will be happy if you make the move. Let us know when and if you make it down and we can help direct you to some of there outings.

In case you missed them here are a couple of other threads with Cars and Coffee pics from earlier months.

Yeah, my wife wants us to move out there because her family lives in Asheville, but neither of us like living in smaller towns, so we are planning on Charlotte. The only thing holding us up is selling our house, I don't want to lose all our equity, we will see when the housing market rebounds

Ha!! you know I'm messing, it was nice to see her cleaned up though...and hey lunch was good.

Bob (Robert) is coming over tomorrow (Friday) to have me do his before the Lake Lure trip...maybe we can fit you in while the zaino dries LOL. You know I gotta keep his cayman nice, I might want it in a year when he sells it. That leather interior is sweet.

If you are around the weekend of the 15th let me know...we'll (I'll) make yours all shiny.

btw, I'm enjoying the desnorkle.

desnorkle is suttle to the layman. but for the enthusiastic driver, it makes a huge difference, especially with the top down. you can hear the roar. i'm in town this weekend, but on call. i'll give you a ring if i find some time to help you with bob's. next weekend, i'll be heading to atlanta again. can't wait for the "whip" shine on my baby though.
