Guards Red Overlay...

I got my Guards Red Klisstle.com overlays from Eric (bumperplugs.com) this morning and installed them tonight...they came out really nice!

Always enjoy doing business with Eric, it took a while but he makes sure things are right and pays close attention to detail. I could trade ideas and stories with him for hours.

Thanks ddb! Great product, I'll see you at C&C Sat. I'll post a daylight pic tomorrow hopefully.

Looks great. I need to get these for mine in silver. How long does it take to get them painted?

Nice!

I'm looking forward to seeing them from a different perspective. Seeing more of the car while outside will really highlight the painted hoops.

See you tomorrow.

Bumperplugs (Eric) can usually turn things around in 7 to 14 days however he has been totally overloaded since the spring and is just catching up. Give him a call and see how long the wait is now.

I needed (wanted) mine before I went to a show two weeks ago in the Mountains but they weren't ready, he offered to help me find someone else to do them but I declined, he painted my bumperettes and I wanted his quality, yes maybe someone else in Charlotte could have done it but then I would be taking a chance and two I would then have to get on a new schedule...I'm happy I waited.

Looks great! Is it to hard to take the roll bar out and paint the whole thing?

truegearhead,

I haven't done it, but I wanted to, and read a DIY on another forum some years ago. I don't think it's difficult, but somewhat involved. More than I wanted to do. I therefore developed my Klisstle overlays. I recall the following steps:

1) Remove the convertible top assembly (not sure what this entails)
2) Remove some interior trim pieces (maybe the pieces that cover the seatbelt mechanisms)
3) You will then have access to 8 or 10 fasteners that secure the roll bar
4) Remove the three trim pieces that adorn the roll bar (near the back of your head)
5) Prep and paint roll bar
6) Reverse to reassemble

The look of a completely painted roll bar is fantastic. But, I'm happy with the coverage of the overlays.

Here are some more pics of cars with Klisstle overlays:

Thanks,

ddb

You're welcome, gmboxster.

I'm partial, but I think they look particularly great on white Boxsters!

Whip - The car looks fantastic! Thanks for the pics. I especially like the one from above.

It looks like you have the paint looking better than ever. I know you've worked hard on it and it shows.

How's the truck running?

Truck is running great...used it all last week while on vacation to work around the house. You going to C&C Sat? There is also PCA event at Knights Stadium that would be cool to watch...they race their cars around the parking lot. I'd like to do it but would have to my 17s on and switch out my Akebono's and put the Mintex on...I hate to dirty up my baby...I really want to learn it's limits (at low speeds ).

Yep, I'll be there Saturday morning. Turnout was great last month. Lots of Porsches as well as just about every other make imaginable. It will be interesting to see how the cooler temperatures affect the crowd.

Are you coming out? Do you have your normal Saturday tee time?

Hey Man - Yes I believe I can finally make it! I think I'm playing golf Sun instead. Hopefully if we get there early enough we encourage other Porsche owners to all park together. You also wanted to take some pics of overlays.
I tried to get Tuanle16 to go but he has to work. Cheers!
