Hybernation Ends!

The Box finally escaped the garage this afternoon for the first time since early November. Started right up, no issues, and ran perfect all afternoon. Wow- I missed that car!

Showing off my winter exterior upgrades:

Clear sidemarkers
New wheels/tires off this site (thanks for the great deal!)
Cheapie de-amber front turn signals (smoked headlight armor over amber part)
New front bumper cover
LED rear lights

Other winter projects done:

Replaced PS window motor
Replaced headlight switch
Installed iPod connector to back of CDR-220
De-Snorkel
Light exhaust mod

It's been so long since I drove the car, I couldn't really tell the difference with the de-snorkel & exhaust mods. The whole car just sounded incredible all day.

I know what you mean. Here in the Hudson Valley it has been dry for a number of days now so we took a nice ride yesterday. As you say, you realize how much fun the car is to drive and how much you missed it.

Your mods are tasteful and the car looks good. Now look forward to a full driving season with the return of the "Permagrin".

Looks really nice - great job!

What do the radiator intake guards look like? Mesh? Will they be black or another color?

I know it's tough to see in the photo, but they are installed. They are black mesh, and at that angle, you can see through the mesh almost perfectly to the radiators.

I can vouch for that. Too much snow/ice left to melt and then there's the gravel

I know what you mean. As you can see in the pics, we still have a lot of snow left to melt, too. Including six new inches of the stuff last Tuesday.

But it has recently started to dry up a lot on the streets - and I really could not stand waiting any longer. A few times I had to take evasive maneuvers on the street to avoid water - which most certainly contained road salt & gravel. I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to road salt and my favorite toy.

Thanks! I bought them from another board member here. I think they ended fitting the car quite nicely. And all I really wanted was new tires, but he had a pretty good deal for me with almost new tires and those wheels.

Lucky me!
