New Navi install - AVIC-x910bt

Just finished installing my new AVIC-x910bt.
Thanks to Truellionaire's kit, I think the end result is excellent!
It was little bit time consuming, it was pretty easy to do. All I have left to do is route my mic and my GPS antenna; got too dark outside to finish the job.

Here are some pictures.

I love the x910bt. It has built-in blue tooth, navi, DVD, voice command, etc

the owners manual tells you how to add it from a CD. Do you need the image file?

Wat is hard to get the in-dash system in? I was told that because the dashboard is so small, the boxster would only take a flip-out dvd/navi system (otherwise, it would take a lottt of work). Obviously, that's incorrect.

You'll end up giving up your cup holders... Otherwise simply buy the installation kit and follow the instructions. Many of us have done it and the results are awesome!

Brabus,

Looks nice is this a flip slide out type? How do Pioneer and Alpine nav systems compare with a regular Garmin or Magellian?

Hi jaykay,
Yes this is the slide out type , can tilt the angle to personal perference ,
For sound quality , i will place my bet on a Alpine , pioneer is more user friendly , with more bling bling .
Anyway , i owns a small business in my country dealing with car audio , and supplying audio parts to car AD .
Sad to say the boxster S is not the ideal car for ICE , but is one of the best raodster i ever driven .

Brabus what model Alpine did you have? How do you like the navigation on it? Were you able to fit in place of the stock Becker? Do you have a picture of it closed? Any problems with the flip out motor?
