Hoosier Pass , Colorado ( 11,500ft)

While driving to Breckenridge this am for breakfast, we stopped at Hoosier Pass to take a few pics of the 987 and the last summer snow on
Mt. Bross and Mt. Lincoln. This area is close to my home, so I pass by here frequently year round.... Cheers, Tom

Aspen changing colors in the valley below....

A dusting of late summer snow at 14,000ft.. The Boxster loves the twisties.

Spring 09... "snowshoeing" at Hoosier Pass... The 335xi is a rocket.

My Aprilia and Triumph at the pass ( Spring 09). For me....No car can be this much fun

What to ride...... ?

It looks like the trees are starting to turn down there. I gotta get up to RM National Park this weekend, it only peaks for a very short time.

This weekend should be ideal .... at least in my area. Kenosha Pass looked great today.

Great photos! I've vacationed in that area since birth but never had the opportunity to drive a Boxster through the Rockies. Definitely on my must-do list.

I have climbed all around there; Northstar many times.... lived in C Springs until Jul of this year. The new snow fortells what is to come....in VA now enjoying a bit longer summer. Bob

How true.... Here's pics from last week at my house ( 9,000ft) on the last day of Summer 09. Should be a great year of skiing. .... Tom

Kayak frame in the snow.

Time to fire up the stove in the workshop.

Cappuccino warmer....

Thanks, a friend sent me some pics of Pikes peak with about 10" on it. That is the only thing I grew a bit tired of over the years. I did not mind snow blowing but in May and Sep it got a tad old. I am sure it is 70 degrees and sunny there today. Enjoy Bob

The only problem with early and late snowfall is that it messes with my motorcycle riding . Last winter, I was able to motorcycle 60 days
between Novemeber and April. This year may be a different story. And yes, it's going to be near 70 today, and last weeks snow is long gone.

I lived in the Denver area for many years, and snow there was more of an annoyance than anything else. Living in the mountains
turns it into a winter wonderland with snowshoeing and skiing so close by..... Not to mention the great twisty mountain roads
for the cars and the bikes.

Living in the mountains isn't for everyone.... and I'm glad ( 6 pics)

Sometimes this....

Requires this ........

To do this.....

Or This....

When it all melts, you have this ......

And this..... ( Had to post the 987 to stay on topic )
