Christian H: Yes, I removed the vent slats before they were painted. I just put some painter's tape on the vent when reinstalling the slats so I wouldn't scratch the finish.

carguy: I took all the pieces off and sanded, sanded, sanded. Did I mention I sanded them? I bought the paint from paintscratch.com and took them to an autobody shop. It took the shop about 2 days and it cost $250. The clear coat they used has a really nice smell, so there is zero paint smell in the cabin. It actually acted like an air freshener for the first couple weeks or so.

I now have to paint the black C clip near the door pocket to match the arctic silver door handle.
