A few pics from earlier projects
Painted interior pieces seal grey to match exterior. I was debating doing the vent pieces b/c of the glare, but wearing polarized shades takes care of that  and it really ties the whole dash together.
The second pic is painted bumperettes and my pedro sport exhaust painted flat black. AHHHh! I thought by using tinypic the images would be smaller! |
Lookin sweet!
That's looking very nice,
Did you remove the directional pieces on the side vents before painting? |
When you are on Tinypic, right before you upload the picture, if you look at the middle of the page, you'll see a drop down box called RESIZE, where you can resize the picture smaller when it downloads to Tinypic. Here's an example of your pic resized from Tinypic:

Really nice work Shaman, looks great, and tastefully done. Can you detail what process and paint you used? I want to copy whatever you did for my seal grey S!

Christian H: Yes, I removed the vent slats before they were painted. I just put some painter's tape on the vent when reinstalling the slats so I wouldn't scratch the finish.
carguy: I took all the pieces off and sanded, sanded, sanded. Did I mention I sanded them? I bought the paint from paintscratch.com and took them to an autobody shop. It took the shop about 2 days and it cost $250. The clear coat they used has a really nice smell, so there is zero paint smell in the cabin. It actually acted like an air freshener for the first couple weeks or so. I now have to paint the black C clip near the door pocket to match the arctic silver door handle. |
