I have the half metal ball shift knob and the boot is attached to it by 2 thin zip ties so that wouldnt be to hard to undo and redo.

Can I get my S4 boot in on this deal?

Also do you think you have a color that would match the Alcantara on my interior? I think it is described as almost a silver...

When people risk their lives, shouldn't it be for something very important?
Well, it better be.
But what is so important about driving faster than anyone else?
Lots of people go through life doing things badly. Racing's important to men who do it well.
When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting.

Why? Because he offered them for free, then changed the offer after I emailed him. Free? He said he wanted some pictures, which I offered to take. I wasn't expecting anything for free... a trade, with terms set by him was all. I own five companies and am fully aware of the economics of doing business in this wonderful country. If there was only one boot available, the "ad" should have said so.

I agree with Bob O completely. The original post was 'get a free shift boot in exchange for some photos of it'. No mention of limited to one person. The original post was deceptive IMO. I think that is all Bob is saying ( Bob O, I hope I'm not putting words in your mouth ). All of a sudden, Boom, $29.99. Be honest up front. Just my 2 cents.

I agree that the 1st post should have included more detailed information to avoid confusion.

How about a black Alcantara boot with light grey stitching. That would look very sharp

Hello Bob,

We sincerely apologize if our original posting was at all misleading. We didn't expect it would be this easy to attract someone, and we thought when we finally did, we could offer that person a free boot.

Next time, we will certainly be more clear about this.

We only mentioned the price afterward, as it seemed other were interested.

Again, we do apologize for any confusion here.

Would it be possible to buy just some alcantara from you? or you just sell finished products? I was just wondering because i was considering taking my steering wheel and shift knob to upholstery place and put some alcantara on top....and if i get alcantara and shift boot from same place the color match would be perfect

That idea crossed my mind too. How much would it cost to have the material stitched on the steering wheel and shift knob?

I havent gotten any quotes yet...but my friend wanted her vw steering wheel covered with leather and they quoted her $250 leather included....but that was a dealer recomended place so im sure they are on an expensive side. Im scared to get a quote because i might decide to do it, and i have a fairly long list already with hardtop on the top....but alcantera sounds lice

We could look into doing some steering wheels if enough of you are interested.

We would require that you send them in, and then you could select the material/color you would like, and we will finish it for you.

Thanks

Well you can count me in as Interested in steering wheel and shift knob wrapped in alcantera.

To give you an Idea of what the steering wheel knob look like heres a pictures below...

Heres the standard 4 spoke wheel that i have.

Here is the optional 3 spoke that more fortunate porsche owners have (would look better with alcantera)

Here is my shift knob, i'd just like the section currently covered in leather to be covered in alcantera.

We can definitely look into this.

To begin though, let's see how the shift boots turn out

Well the boot i was sent turned out to be for the stock mushroom style shifter which didnt fit my porsche silver ball knob... the neck of the boot was too narrow and was nearly impossible to stretch around the allen bolt on the shifter that locks it in place.

When i pulled the new boot over the frame i can tell it was being stretched pretty far and some of the white stitching would open up from the tension.

Heres a picture of it installed....

Im willing to send you my shift knob, original boot, your boot, and the mounting frame so you can create a better fitting template for my style of shift knob.

The boot (once adjusted) will look better than I thought it would, its probably the darker color.
