New (to me) 986
Hello All,
Just wanted to say hello and display my Boxster. It's a 2000. It took quite a bit of time to find a car with the desired colors and condition. It was worth it!

White paint
Chris,
White exterior is my preference. In the past, I've had people make comments that implied that I took a white car because I couldn't find a "more desirable color". I prefer grey interior. My top is black, but grey would have been just as nice for me.

Chris,
An east coast gathering would be great. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures from your new top installation. Hopefully I won't need one for awhile. When I do, I think I will go with a grey top as well. Have you ever tackled a project like this before?

Porsche986,
Thanks for the compliment. Nice trick with the headlights! I love the black cars as well. I think black in general is probably the nicest looking color for a car. But, I'm much too lazy to do the work to maintain a proper looking black vehicle. I think it would drive me crazy. At least the 986 is small enough to minimize the time required for detailing.

Welcome to our group and in the purchase of your fine looking Boxster. Is it a Boxster or Boxster S? You will enjoy driving it hard with handling never experienced before. Make sure to have the RPM at 4K for nice response!
Enjoy your new car or as the Romans would have said
Carpe Porsche!

Pilot2519j,
Thanks for the welcome! It is a standard Boxster. I've had some fun, fast, decent handling vehicles in the past, but nothing like this. It is such a pleasure to drive. You are right, at 4000, the magic begins!
