Here I am playing wheel-games, I have two sets of the aftermarket 18" carrera wheels. One set with my beloved PS2's the other with either Falken 512's or Nexen 3000's. The PS2's rule,

I've got an itch lately to go to 19s
Carrera 2 II's to be specific, they are on order and will arrive next week, now Im second guessing the decision, especially with Millers Crossing DE approaching.....

				Wheels on the bus...

I think I have the same one as Boggtown's ride. I've had these on since beginning of February and really likem. Really gives the Boxster a different stance from the rear and the side, probably among my favorite upgrades yet.
Some of the things I wouldn't mind installing in the future are some aggressive looking front bumper, rocker panels, and that rear diffuser that kind of complete the bumper where the muffler is. I think that would complete the look for my exterior (oh and maybe some clear front headlights)

				19"carrera II's

Got my 19's last week, upgraded from 18" turbo twists that were 10" in back and 8.5 upfront, on Michelin pilots. New wheels are 8" x 19" 57mm offset up front and 9.5" x 19" 46mm offset in back, with BFG's G force 225/35 up front, 265/30 in back.I was a little leery after ordering these as I didnt want that " pimp my ride look" but IMHO I think these look good without looking too flashy. Ride is not noticeably rougher from my other setup, which is now taking up space the garage and needs to be sold soon if anyone is looking for a set of 18"s (pictures in my previous post) PM me if interested.

I hope you didn't have to pay full tilt boogey for those!
I thought I had a set in hyper-black, or whatever BBS calls their version, for 1500, but turned out to not be them.

			18" Turbo wheels
Hancook tires
came with the car.

I'm upgrading wheels and tires very soon. I think I'm going to buy the 18" BSA 215, I wanted the SSR GT3's but tirerack no longer carries them.

Those have to be the best looking wheels I've seen on a Boxster! Are you at stock height?

If you want a good way to do a quick clean on your rims, I use a duster (the reusable kind one would use in a house). Just dip it in the soapy water (after I'm done cleaning the rest of the car obvs) and attack the wheels. Doesn't take much longer than 2 min per wheel and gets them really clean. Plus since its a brush it can get in-between spokes easily

Thanks, I think they look great also. These are actually the sizes for the 996, but I threw them on and they fit and looked good to me. The fronts could use some small spacers, but the rears are flush. And, yes stock height. The car looked a tad goofy with the 19's at stock height until I added the skirts. That really pulled the car together.

I'm considering selling the car, if anyone is interested, I got a good deal on it so I'm not looking to sell it for much.

Kind of......paid the full US asking price which was about $4,500 including the tyres from Tirerack. ********************loads cheaper than the UK price - was quoted $8,000 for wheels only!! |
