A Repair, Mod, and a Hardtop

My front bumper looked really bad, lots of imbedded "stuff". So I had it resprayed and Filled the plate holes eliminating need for Bumperplugs

Had the Bumperettes painted while the shop had it

And finally put the hardtop on I got about a week ago

Thanks for the comments!

Yeah PTeam, the hardtop is actually on permanent. It's hot as H@#l here in the summer. I figure I will either go hardtop or no top with the soft top being only if I get caught out in rain. I just prefer the look if a top has to be on it. It came with the roof cable system, so it can be off in ten minutes.

I don't have an actual price on just the bumper. It was $584 to remove, prep, fill the plate holes, and spray the bumper. This also included painting the bumperettes. I thought the price was decent all things considered.

The previous owner had to run over every curb in town. Big gouges on the underside as well as embedded stuff. It just looked really bad.

The shop was great to hang around. They do alot of high end cars. Saw a Lambo, Ferarri, Messarati while I was there. Nice owner, has an original 914 and 928. He is the one talking me into the DE track in October. He goes alot in the 914 with the local PCA chapter.

SC986:

Looks great! My bumper is starting to look really rough after quite a few long trips. I like your idea of filling the plate holes.

The hardtop really transforms the car. Looking forward to seeing it in person.
