its a 000 grade steel wool, used for polishing stainless steel.
i picked up a big bag at wallmart for 3 bux, it had 3 different grades, i used medium for scuffing up the wheels, and was left with this, so gave it a shot, wow what a difference, and i tought my tip was clean too.
its kinda like claybar, you think its clean untill you 'really clean it'

as for how to clean with it, it comes rolled up in these bundles, like little square looking blocks i would say, i dont know how to explain, so just whipe with it, its as straight forward as it sounds, and no joke it took me about no more than 15 seconds to clean the whole tip (and i have the large eisenmann tip)
