From what I have read and understood, leak down test is more comprehensive and better indicator of issues than a compression test. You may skip the compression test and perform the leak down instead.

I ended up replacing all the hoses and the reservoir. The hoses looked perfectly fine until you removed them and checked closely at the bend. Ad of course the reservoir crack is so difficult to see...

Whats the deal with VIN plate replacement

Looking at a car with VIN plate that has been issued by DMV. I guess the original one was removed or lost. Some of the body has been modified as well. Wondering what the pitfalls of this could be....

Actually I use a longer one. I only torque mine to 90lbs. With the long bar it is easy to remove. I hate using impact gun to remove. A few slips is all it takes to mess them up.
