Thanks for the suggestions. Found and bought some. I think there is so much rust on them that the clamp adds nothing at this point. No leaks or rattles now anyway.

Muffler Clamp Replacement
While working on my shift linkage I noticed both clamps on each side of my muffler were rusted through.
Any ideas on better replacement then the OEMs?

Looks nice. I was thinking I could drill small holes after I turned one and chisel it to a tight fit then drill a set screw. Black walnut or cherry would look good. I’ll keep thinking it over and...

What a coincidence, I do a lot of wood turning myself and was considering making one. I just have thought about how to get past the rectangular stick yet.

Shift Knob Adapter
I need to replace the shift knob on my 986 but haven’t found an easy solution to get past the rectangular stick.
Other than a bench grinder what have you done to put on an aftermarket round knob?

So I disconnected the blue cable and the shifter moved smoothly. Next step is to jack it up this weekend and look at the trans end.

More info, when in neutral if I move the shifter left and right it just sticks there and does not return to center. Should these shifters return to center or stick as described?
