Why not just keep driving it through the winter? My 98 holds up fine in the New England winters just fine with the snow tires on it.

In BS you'll have tons of fun chasing S2000s, Evos, and STIs. I like that it motivates me to continually improve instead of having an easier time beating up the FRS/BRZ crowd in CS.

I'm not sure what the weather is like in Oklahoma but even if you don't get snow if you have temps consistently below 40 degrees you can benefit from winter tires.
