Radio Code = "WAIT" ... always

Got my wife's boxster S back from the shop and the radio needed the code entered. I entered the wrong code and the radio head just showed "WAIT". Well, I waited, and waited and waited. It never changed!

I disconnected the battery last night and connected just now. The radio head still showed "WAIT".

How long am I supposed to wait?

Has this ever happened to anybody?

Coding

You have to wait for I believe it is 45 minutes "with the car running" before you can try the code again. It could be only 30 minutes...just don't remember.

Good luck!!

Yup. Just be patient. I think it was ~ 20 minutes or so for me.

when it first locked up on wait i drove it to work for an hour...then an hour back. i did this for three days. it never got past "WAIT".

that's when i decided to disconnect the battery. i left it disconnected overnight. still getting the same "WAIT" message.

i don't think it's a matter of waiting any longer...something is up with my radio.

Had a similar issue with my unit, turned the radio on and off a bunch of times after driving it for an hour and eventually got back to the code screen.

i put my wife's "WAIT" face plate on my boxster. it asked for a code. i entered my wife's code and it didn't accept it. i entered my boxster's code and the radio worked fine.

so, i took my working face plate and put it on my wife's boxster. get this, the screen was blank...no "PORSCHE"....no "WAIT"....nothing.

so i switched the face plates back to their original radio's. mine didn't ask for a code and worked fine. my wife's went right back to "WAIT".

fun stuff.

I have an extra CDR 220 for sale. pm sent.

...I'd be willing to work a deal where we could swap and I can either fix yours or break it all the way.
