The TIG weld will be strong enough but you'll still have to remove it, plus clean it up and as it's a thick part it will need to be pre-heated too before welding. Easier to just swap it out.

I'm 6ft 4" and seeing as though mine is rhd, clutch was a pain and and left hand on the steering wheel was an issue but I've fitted the gt3 centre console delete and it's a different car to sit in...

When I fitted mine I used the layered gaskets...

When I fitted mine I used the layered gaskets only for them to fail and blow out after a month of running. Fitted the proper single shim type gasket and all good since.

Just ordered a pump from a breaker that I know that is good so hope the pump is too. He's never let me down yet so once it's fitted I'll tear the old one down.
