West Coast Drive planned for 3/10

For those SF Bay Area PPBBers that may not visit www.babblers.org, there is a day trip planned for Mt. Diablo on March 10th. All the details for, "See the World II" can be found at the link below.

Fun Fact: Mt Diablo's summit - 3,849' - offers a sweeping panorama--more of the earth's surface can be seen from the mountain than any other peak in the world, except Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa.

Here is a picture from the last meet.

Looks like a fun drive. I really like Crow Canyon Rd. My grandparents lived in Castro Valley. I'll see if my Bro will want to go. Hopefully the drive will be a little more "spirited" than the last time my wife and I went on a PCC drive.

Keep in mind it's in a State Park so I don't know how hard they drive in there. This will be my first year going so I guess I will find out.

*You have 100 miles from Rocklin to San Ramon, don't tell me there aren't any onramps on the way there you couldn't have fun on.

V_J, I know you're in Rocklin but if you want more spirited drive, you should check out, 6speedonline.com event threads. Those guys are crazy , went twice already with their event and all i could say is, most of the time, RPM stays @ 4500 and above

I went on the original drive. Seems like 100 years ago. Dan invited the local S2000 owners. I bought sushi for lunch.

I think this is a picture of that drive waiting for the others to catch up, but I did not take it.

Also more info: One calculation shows that the viewshed from Mount McKinley (Denali) in Alaska is about three times greater. Nor is it plausible that more viewable area can be seen from the Diablo summit than any other peak in the lower 48 states

Good job Blinkwatt!!!
