I am in Houston all but I would be willing to drive for a "drive". I normally take my 10 year old son with me as he loves the ride alongs. Weather is incredible right now so lets try and get something going. PM me if anybody wants to get something scheduled.

I now have 2 Boxsters one for daily driving, one for the wife
and 2 more for parts. I've had several others over the years
that are now owned by friends and family.

New Boxster owners in/around Austin should acquaint themselves with
my mechanic in SE Austin.

He rebuilt my 2000 S daily driver 35K miles ago, has worked on many Boxster
and 911 engines and stores and works on my race cars and other Porsches that
I have.

you can contact him through my website. I focus on the driving and racing
and not so much on the wrenching -- But Danny is a good guy and a good mechanic.

Sort of a starving Indy -- but knows his Porsches == especially the Boxsters.
Not much to look at -- but good honest and reasonably priced work.

If there was some sort of technical meet and greet
where myself or my mechanic could show folks how to
do some DIY or how to fix common maladies

would you be interested?
what would you like to see?
how would you suggest doing it?

thanks,

Mike

Heck yes. Maybe start with some "simple" stuff like:
-Belt changing
-Convertible Top adjustments
-Motor mount replacement
-Car care - Waxing/washing/treating convertible tops, best practices for cleaning etc

Then we can progress to some more difficult things. Not sure how/where to do it but I can see it would be valuable for attendees to bring their cars with the necessary items needing replacement/repair/adjustment (all with clarification beforehand of what they would like to see done so we can have the necessary experience or tools to handle the job).

Just dreaming of course because these are some of the items I know I could use a second hand with.

Happy to help coordinate something with all interested parties. Maybe we can rent a garage/lift as a group if there are enough of us so we can all wrench on our cars together. Would love to learn from some experienced guys.

Thanks
