Cayman Exhaust Question

Hello guys - I need some advice please. I have a 2007 Cayman S and I want to modify the factory exhaust system - in essence, remove the secondary cats and muffler - leaving the factory headers and primary cat in place. In order to remove the factory muffler, will I have to remove the rear fascia? Thanks.

Not sure about the automatic transmission, but on my 987CS with the 6 speed I was able to remove the rear section to install an aftermarket (FVD Brombacher Sport version), which sounded amazing!
