Well kids, here's the new NewArt video for the first time in the 987 section!

Nice launch!
I timed approx. 5.0 secs from 0-96 mph.
Could that be?

Just wonderin'............

Nice video. Very informative.

There are 2 fluids in a PDK - the trans fluid and diff fluid. Since you're doing track days, be sure to change the trans fluid more often than recommended. On your car, the suggested trans change is 6 yrs or 60K mi (sorry, I'm a lazy American and didn't convert to KM) and 12 yrs / 120K mi for the diff. Porsche changed it to 12 / 120 for both on the 981, which is way too long of an interval for track cars.

Haha, not quite! Km/h here in Canada. About 60 mph. First time trying this. Street tires and ran out of road.

Great video, I really would love to do a season of track with a PDK, I am at VIR right now and having to downshift to 2nd for oak tree is killing me, if I stay in 3rd I can roll through with my lowest speed at 48 mph but if I go to 2nd it drops to about 42-43 (my heel toe needs work too!), but it's faster for lap time. With PDK I could have my 48 mph AND 2nd gear launch :-) I think I could really work on my corner entry speed in a lot of places. I'm jealous!

I'm looking forward to trying out the PDK in my new-to-me Cayman S next year at the track. So far I haven't done any performance driving at all, but it was nice to have the PDK for the 3 1/2 hour slog through LA traffic when I drove the car to Seattle from San Diego.

Racer Boy,

You may want to add the center radiator (if you don't have one yet) to help keeping the PDK cool, as the engine coolant goes through the PDK oil heat exchanger.

Congratulations on the nice car BTW!

Thanks, Gilles!

The car has the center radiator. I believe that the 987.2 came with the center rad, the 987.1 didn't.

The 987 CS was replaced a couple of years ago with a 981 CS with PDK and didn't have one, so I installed a center radiator for a piece of mind..

I almost bought a 987.1 CS (had terrible bore scoring) that didn't have a center radiator.
