Cayman S info needed

I am looking at a 2006 Cayman S. What are some of the problem areas? I know about the heater switches, hatch thump, and headliner. Was there also a shift linkage issue? Of course there is always the IMS to consider although I believe these were dual row bearings. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

I responded to your questions in the Boxster section, and those responses still apply.

Looks like you have the basic issues covered in your questions. You might try looking on Planet-9, as they're more Cayman centric. I would suggest looking thru the 987 Cayman & Boxster Chat, then the Problem & Complaints and Service & Tech sections for issues and solutions.

The 05 to 08 Caymans and Boxsters have a larger single row IMS that cannot b replaced without removing and separating the engine.
