My passenger's side window doesn't like to roll down

Something odd has been happening to my car. Let me start out by saying that I have a 1999 Porsche Boxster that is in excellent condition. Recently when a passenger would get out of my car the window would not roll down the inch it usually does and then roll back up when the door is closed resulting in me having to wait until they are out to roll it down and up to close properly.

Within the last week or so my window will not even roll down more than an inch. I push the window down button and it goes down an inch and stops, if i push it down again it goes up about 1/4 of an inch. I would rather not bring this to a dealer, has anyone else had this sort of problem and what did you do to fix it?

Is there a way to visually inspect the regulator or to measure something?
