986 muffler on a 987 Cayman?

I've tried many exhausts on my Cayman, but nothing sounds as good as my standard 986 muffler with bypass pipes on my 986.

Could the same muffler fit a 987 Cayman with a bit of modification?

You'll need to check the space behind the gearbox. I guess it'll depend on your type of gearbox and maybe the 987 has a bit more space towards the bumper cover. But I found that the 987 S 6-speed is too long to fit the 986 muffler.
