Is the purpose of putting the battery in backward to see if it damages the transmitter chip?
The transmitter to unlock the door is separate from the "pill" in the fob for the ignition.
Are the fob switches working? is the LED working? Have you checked power is getting to the circuit board when you press the button?
The code in the fob has to match the code in the immobilizer which is why the programming. Still, a scam as they hook it up, go away and do something else whilst the ten minutes of programming is done.
