Thanks so much.

So from the listed part numbers it does seem that the low pin count one is the 5.3, while the 5.7 has the higher pin count.

So where I am now I have the 987 rear wheel carriers on my 986 to be able to fit the 987 driveshafts (to fit the 987 gearbox). My car is an early 986, so it has ABS 5.3 with the inductive sensors (DF6). The 987 has the hall-effect sensor (DF11), just like the later 986 models with the ABS 5.7.

So to retain ABS functionality it seems I have two options;
1. Modify ABS 5.3 to work with the DF11 sensors. Both modules will have an input signal conditioning circuit. I would imagine the 5.7 would have a circuit capable of both sensors, but maybe it is just the hall-effect it supports. Swapping circuitry could be doable.

2. Upgrade my car to ABS5.7. Most signals connecting to the car seem very similar. I would likely loose the VSS signal, but there are ways to recover that.

Any options I am not seeing? (apart from motorsport ABS, which is out of budget anyway).
