If you have a RMS leak will thinner oil (i.e. M-1 Zero-W40) leak worse than thicker oil (say, 10-W40)?

Renntech had a thread on this..... RMS leak just as much with 0W40 as they do with 15W40. Often it's a combination of the intermediate shaft housing seal and RMS that leaks.

Using a thicker oil isn't the right answer to fixing a leak. It will cause other long term issues.

I think by the time it gets heated up, it's all going to be about the same weight, anyway.
